6:20am
Rise and shine! It may be early, but you won’t want to miss out on morning yoga with your Adventure Host at 6:30am. Depending on the weather, limber up for the day ahead on either the Sky Deck or in the Panorama Lounge. Don’t worry – if you prefer to snooze a little longer, you can do that too!
7am – 9am
Breakfast is served! The breakfast buffet is available from 7am – 9am in our Panorama Dining Room. There is a wide variety of choices – from the egg station to cereals, to hot options and lots of drinks.
Alternatively, you can choose to have a complimentary (continental) breakfast in bed with the curtains drawn back to take in the view from your Open-Air Balcony.
From 8:30am
It’s time to embark on your included morning excursion. All Avalon river cruises offer a wide variety of Active, Discovery or Classic excursions which cater for all types of travellers. For example:
- Active excursion: put your foot to the pedal on a biking tour through Strasbourg
- Discovery excursion: roll up your sleeves for a cooking class in Lyon
- Classic excursion: dive into Vienna on a guided sightseeing tour
Don’t forget to stay hydrated by filling up your water bottle with filtered, sparkling or vitamin-fortified water! Water stations are found in the Club Lounge or outside the Dining Room.
12pm – 1:30pm
Return to your Suite Ship in time for lunch onboard. All that exploring means you would have worked up an appetite so satisfy your hunger with our lunch buffet in the Panorama Dining Room.
From 1:30pm
Depending on your river cruise, the afternoon is generally at leisure. There may be an Optional Excursion available that tickles your fancy; you might be docked so you can head ashore to wander to your heart’s content; you may want to relax onboard; or you might even be sailing to your next destination!
4pm
You certainly won’t go hungry on an Avalon cruise! 4pm signals afternoon tea, complete with freshly made cakes, tea and coffee.
5:45pm – 6:45pm
Welcome to Happy Hour onboard Avalon! As of the end of 2022, our Happy Hour is complimentary for our guests. This includes house wine, beer and a cocktail of the day. Grab a drink and catch up with your fellow cruisers to hear about their day!
6:45pm
Your Cruise Director will hold a short, informative port talk to take you through what the next day will bring, including any important mentions about weather, currency or similar.
7pm – 9pm
Our Panorama Dining Room is set up with a mix of different seating arrangements to suit you. Choose an intimate dinner with your travel buddy or mix and mingle with newfound friends – the choice is yours! Onboard dinners in the Panorama Dining Room are à la carte five course affairs comprised of regional specialties, wine and beer.
7:15pm – 8:45pm
If you prefer something a little lighter, that’s no trouble! Take advantage of our Panorama Bistro dinner in the Panorama Lounge. This is where you will find an array of small plates in a more casual setting.
From 9pm
Depending on your itinerary, you could be in for a treat with some post-dinner entertainment! This could be a performance by local musicians, a trivia or movie night. Of course, you can always choose to wind down in the comfort of your cabin with a movie or good book.
