Sicily: a vibrant island brimming with nature, ancient history and culinary indulgence. There is much to see, do and eat on this Italian island but today we’ll focus on Etna, Taormina and all its flavours.
Mount Etna

Mount Etna is a legend unto itself. Not only is it Europe’s highest active volcano, but it’s a UNESCO World Heritage site and a centuries-old symbol of Sicily’s power. On your tour, take a guided excursion up the volcano. Walk across lava-shaped landscapes, past old lava flows and craters and take in patches of colourful wildflowers that contrast against the black volcanic rock. If you’re brave enough, travel higher by jeep or cable car for even more incredible views across Sicily.
Taormina

Taormina sits high on a plateau that overlooks the Ionian Sea, boasting some of the most breathtaking views in all of Sicily. Whether you’re sipping on an espresso and people-watching in the heart of the the town, Piazza Nove Aprile; or wandering along Corso Umberto, its main street with beautiful boutique shops and cafes, we think you’re sure to fall in love with Taormina.

Of course, the Greek Theatre is what truly makes Taormina impressive. With Sicily’s Greek roots, this theatre showcases impressive architecture and acoustic design. This is an amazing feat considering it was built in the 3rd century BC to seat thousands of spectators! The Greek tradition of incorporating natural surroundings to become part of the performance is apparent with a drop-dead gorgeous backdrop of Etna and the coastline. An absolute must visit when in Sicily!
Culinary treasures

When in Taormina, must-try dishes revolve around seafood and local produce. From sardines stuffed with cheese and herbs to the local sausages and refreshing granita, you won’t go hungry. Close to Mount Etna, you may have a chance to try local honey and wine that has been grown and produced with its mineral-rich soil.
