The Globus family of brands’ Lighthouse Project is proud to be shining a spotlight on the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding this February.

Giant pandas are a national Chinese treasure, as well as one of the rarest animals in the world, so it only makes sense that a space has been created in Chengdu to research and encourage the longevity of these amazing animals.

The Chengdu Research Base was established in 1987 and it has grown from strength to strength ever since. The Chengdu Research Base is a replica of a giant panda’s natural habitat, filled with bamboo forests and plenty of fresh air. It is home to around 150 giant pandas and you will also find an informative museum that explains panda conservation.
