Australia’s unique and much-loved wildlife is disappearing at an alarming rate. With help from donations from across the globe, the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital give injured wildlife a second chance at one of the world’s largest animal hospitals. Started by the late, great Steve Irwin and his wife, Terri, the hospital has been thriving for over 15 years.

In one year, between 9,000 – 10,000 animals are brought here for lifesaving treatment after things such as road traffic, domestic animal attacks and land clearing. The hospital plays a vital role in saving Australia’s native species one life at a time in the hopes that they will be preserved for generations to come.
