Where misty highlands meet bustling cities, ancient castles stand tall, and every pub has a story…hello, Scotland! There is so much to uncover with dramatic landscapes and a vibrant culture. Interested? There is a Scotland for every traveller, so join us on a Globus or Cosmos tour to find out more.

For the outdoor adventurer

Scottish Highlands

The Highlands are Scotland’s playground with jagged peaks and never-ending valleys. There are plenty of hikes of varying levels from climbing Ben Nevis, the UK’s tallest peak, or a picturesque walk around Loch Lomond. And all the while, you may be lucky enough to spot some of Scotland’s beloved wildlife – from puffins to red deer.

For the history buff

Stirling Castle

The Scottish people are extremely proud of their heritage. Practically every corner is tied to a battle, a clan or a legend so there are stories a-plenty. Discover the ruins of Melrose Abbey, a previous haven for monks; visit the Standing Stones of Stenness in Orkney that predate both the pyramids and Stonehenge; walk the grand halls of Stirling Castle; and learn about one of Scotland’s most important fights at Culloden Battlefield

For the city lover

Edinburgh

For those that love the atmospheric buzz of a big city, Edinburgh and Glasgow will deliver. In a nutshell, Edinburgh is an exceptional reflection of Scotland’s history where you can trace its roots from the medieval Old Town to the Georgian New Town. Whilst Glasgow has a mix of historic grandeur and modern energy with contemporary art galleries and a vibrant live music scene.

For the foodie

Fish and chips

Scotland’s cuisine has come a long way from haggis (although we recommend trying this traditional dish!). You may come across one of Scotland’s beloved whisky regions – like smooth, honeyed drams in Speyside or a smoky bomb in Islay – where you can visit a distillery for a tour and/or tasting. Coastal seafood like oysters, mussels and scallops make an appearance, as does artisan cheeses, Angus beef and whisky-smoked salmon. Dig in and indulge in all that Scotland has to offer!

For the culture seeker

Highland Games

Music, dance and folklore are all important to Scotland’s core. From the age-old summer tradition of the Highland Games and Hogmanay on New Year’s Eve to smaller touches like Ceilidh performances and stories about faeries in a village pub, culture is found in all shapes and sizes throughout the country.

Whatever you like to seek out while on holiday, Scotland will tick the box for you. Discover this extraordinary country on a Globus or Cosmos tour.
