From the very first sighting of turquoise lakes, pristine glacial mountains, quaint towns and picturesque landscapes; the Canadian Rockies is a destination that wins over everybody’s hearts.
There’s nothing quite like the people, wildlife and natural beauty of the Canadian Rockies. Whether it’s rain, hail or shine, you won’t be disappointed.
Cosmos Heart of the Canadian Rockies tour epitomises the highlights and must-see sights you’d want from your first, or maybe even second, visit during your tour from Calgary to Vancouver.
Banff National Park
Once you enter the friendly and quaint town of Banff, there are plenty of things to do and see. From shopping for quirky souvenirs to riding the gondola up to Sulphur Mountain soaking in the magical views of the town or embarking on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go on a helicopter ride over the Canadian Rockies.
A beautiful and romantic lake you can tick off your bucket list while travelling in the Canadian Rockies. Go for a stroll around the lake and take a seat to soak in the views; go canoeing on the lake for a more intimate experience or take one of the many hiking trails. Lake Louise is bounded by many natural beauties – the glacial mountains and the fragrant pine trees. If you have some spare time, you can also dine in the marvellous Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise at the Poppy Brasserie to get a panoramic view of the lake.
Moraine Lake, Banff
Picture perfect is an understatement. The natural beauty of this lake will leave you in awe at first glance. The turquoise water may have you fooled in pictures but guess what? It is real as ever can be. Some believe the colour is a result of the reflection of the blue sky by the water surface, but this isn’t quite accurate. The colour is due to the glacier sediment rocks or rock flour, which is common for many glacial lakes. Although you might be awe-struck from the beauty, be sure to view the lake from all angles – take a quick hike up the Rockpile Trail, walk around the basin of the lake or rent a canoe for the ultimate experience.
Maligne Lake, Jasper
An optional excursion you don’t want to miss! One of the most spectacular areas of Jasper National Park, Maligne Lake offers great insight into the history of the First Nations. Hop onboard a boat and sail through the lake – you might even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the soaring bald eagle! As you disembark the boat, you will see the wonderful Spirit Island that is surrounded by crystal blue water. This moment can be quite magical since the island holds many untold stories. Make sure to get your camera ready as this is arguably one of the most photographed places in the Canadian Rockies!
Where to even begin? Victoria is a city that will take your breath away. The city sits on the southern end of Vancouver Island and showcases its Victorian architecture and one of the most beautiful harbours in the world. There’s plenty to see and do in this love-at-first-sight city from countless adrenaline activities to fine dining and endless shopping opportunities. Victoria is the perfect place to be for any tourist, and you cannot turn down seeing a few of their iconic sites. The Butchart Gardens is a must with 55 acres of vivid floral displays, whale watching on a zodiac boat for a chance to see the famous Orcas, boarding a seaplane as you soar over the stunning city to having a picnic in front of the British Columbia Parliament as you admire the twinkling lights into the evening.
This bustling West Coast city is perfect for those who like to experience unique neighbourhoods, culinary delights and endless outdoor activities.
