What comes to mind when you think of visiting Britain and Ireland? From royals and artists to the breath taking Highlands and cosy pubs, you won’t be disappointed! Go beyond the ordinary with Globus on a 24-day tour, taking you right to the heart of this spectacular part of the world. These are five of our favourite highlights in Britain and Ireland that you can experience with Globus.

1. Sail away on Plymouth Sound

Known as The Sound to locals, this expansive body of water is a popular place to visit for its serene location. There’s no wonder why Plymouth has been given the title of Britain’s Ocean City! Included in your tour is a picturesque cruise on one of the world’s greatest natural harbours.

2. Experience a traditional Irish dinner

With its colourful buildings, Killarney is a must-visit along the Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland. Settle in for the night with the locals to enjoy an Irish dinner of traditional and modern dishes, complete with Gaelic tunes to add to the vibrant atmosphere.

3. Learn about the history behind Giant’s Causeway

Instantly recognisable, there are a few stories behind the iconic Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland. Legend has it that the area came about thanks to a battle of two giants, however the black basalt columns were formed from volcanic activity some 50 – 60 million years ago! There are over 40,000 interlocking columns that seem to ‘grow’ out of the wild sea, a marvellous sight to see in the flesh.

4. Sample the iconic Grasmere gingerbread

Step back in time to 1854 when Victorian cook Sarah Nelson baked her first batch of Grasmere gingerbread…and the rest is history! A cross between a biscuit and a cake, this moreish treat will have you coming back for more. As we pass through the Lake District, it would be rude not to stop in at Grasmere so you can try it for yourself!

5. Walk through history in the Scottish Highlands

Lay your eyes on the charming rose-coloured Brodie Castle, found in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Filled with an awe-inspiring collection of furniture and artwork, historic rooms, and an impressive library, the ancestral home of the Brodie clan will be an experience on this Britain & Ireland holiday that you will never forget!
